- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons chilled butter, chopped
- ½ cup hot pepper jelly
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and set them out for easy access.
- In a food processor, blend the Cheddar cheese, flour, and chilled butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs and forms a soft dough.
- Wrap the dough tightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll the chilled dough into 1½-inch balls and place them 1 inch apart on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 5 minutes, then remove from the oven and gently press a thumbprint into the center of each ball.
- Fill each indentation with about 1 teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
- Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
