Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this is normal.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in their pans for 20-30 minutes. Then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- In a large bowl, beat heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Place one cake layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of frosting on top and sprinkle with crushed Oreo cookies. Add the second cake layer on top.
- Use the remaining frosting to cover the top and sides of the cake.
- Top with additional Oreo cookies for a stunning finish.
