Description

Enjoy Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches, a tender and flavorful beef dish perfect for gatherings and busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 pounds Beef Chuck Roast (A brisket can be a tasty alternative.)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (Use for searing.)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (Adjust according to preference.)
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (Freshly cracked is best.)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Substituting with fresh garlic heightens intensity.)
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder (Consider adding fresh chopped onions for extra flavor.)
  • 4 cups Beef Broth (Vegetable broth is a great vegetarian substitute.)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (Elevates the umami flavor.)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (Contributes saltiness.)
  • 4 pieces Hoagie Rolls (Crusty bread can also be used.)
  • 4 slices Provolone Cheese (Optional; mozzarella can be a substitute.)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley (Optional, for garnish.)

Instructions

  1. Start by patting the beef chuck roast dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil over the surface and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil, and sear the beef for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Pour this sauce into the bottom of the Crockpot.
  4. Place the seared beef into the Crockpot, cover, and cook on low for 8 hours.
  5. After cooking, use two forks to shred the beef into bite-sized pieces and return it to the au jus.
  6. Toast or melt provolone cheese on hoagie rolls if desired.
  7. To serve, pile the shredded beef onto each roll with a small bowl of au jus for dipping.
