Pineapple Cowboy Candy Chicken Wings That Wow Every Guest

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Chicken Wings
  • 1 cup Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 medium Jalapeños
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the pineapple juice, brown sugar, chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, soy sauce, and black pepper until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Pour the marinade over the wings, cover the bowl and let them marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 2 hours.
  5. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a greased wire rack on top.
  6. Lay the marinated wings in a single layer on the wire rack, saving some marinade for later.
  7. Bake the wings for 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown and sizzling, brushing with reserved marinade halfway through.
  8. For extra crispiness, broil the wings for the last 3-5 minutes.
  9. Let the wings rest briefly before serving, garnishing with chopped jalapeños or green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap in chicken drumsticks for variation.
  • Use fresh or canned pineapple juice for best results.
  • Coconut sugar is a great healthier alternative to brown sugar.
  • Adjust jalapeños according to heat preference or use bell peppers for milder wings.
  • Fresh minced garlic is a wonderful substitute for garlic powder.
  • Fresh onion can be used if preferred instead of onion powder.
  • Regular paprika works if smoked isn’t available.
  • Ensure soy sauce is gluten-free for gluten-free version.
  • Freshly cracked pepper yields the best flavor.
