  • 2 cups pretzel crumbs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup Dijon mustard (for the sauce)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. In three separate bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs mixed with milk and Dijon mustard, and pretzel crumbs.
  4. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off excess. Next, dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the chicken in the pretzel crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Arrange the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden brown.
  7. While the chicken is baking, heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and Dijon mustard, stirring to combine. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
