Description

These fudgy red velvet brownies with cream cheese frosting are a soft and chewy dessert that is perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. red food coloring
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° for metal baking pan or 325F for glass baking pan, and spray an 8″x8″ square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk and set aside.
  3. Add melted butter and granulated sugar to a large mixing bowl. Whisk for a solid minute.
  4. Add in eggs, vanilla, vinegar, and food coloring. Continue mixing for one more minute.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix with a spatula until just combined.
  6. Add the batter to prepared baking dish, spread to the edges and smooth over the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  7. While brownies are baking, prepare the frosting by combining the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla with a hand mixer. Mix until well-combined.
  8. Once brownies have cooled, frost and then cut into squares before serving. Enjoy!
